We rescued Willow in September. I had heard of Rockys Rescue through recommendation. The whole process has been... brilliant from our video call to the chat group set up letting us keep up to date with the pups that travelled over with Willow. There have been inevitable delays through no fault of Rockys just challenges that Jean worked hard to sort through and get out dogs to us. All the dogs that came over with Willow have been amazing. The difference in them from just over the two weeks ago arriving from Bosnia is incredible and loads of lovely stories of how the dogs progress is coming on and settling in and their wee characters. I think we will hopefully always keep in touch. Jean is always there in the background ready to help if needed. It’s such an cruel , awful and horrendous life these animals live through till they are killed as if they don’t matter. I can’t let myself think of the ones that have not had the luck that our dogs have had in our wee group. Getting to know our Willow and the dogs that have come over it breaks my heart to think what might have happened to them all. I’d definitely rescue again. 🥰read more

Well... What can I say!! I actually don't think I have any words. I'm speechless at the fact that anyone can abandon... puppies and dogs to begin with - and unfortunately it happens way too much in this cruel world. We came across Sky on Facebook a couple of months ago, done lots of research about rescuing pups and enquired to Jean about rescuing Sky. Jean was very helpful throughout the whole process, start to finish. From the initial video call, continuous updates and photos as well as a lot of advice! Her love and dedication to find these fur babies forever homes is such an inspiration! My dad recently paid for a dog who was supposed to be house trained, good with other dogs and answered to his name,... this was not the case, the dog constantly did his business in the house did not answer to his name and was aggressive, my dad is a very experienced dog handler but had to return the dog as he was to much hard work, rockys rescue has refused to return my dad's money. This is a money making business as each time they rehome a dog they receive another 350 pounds, my advice would be go to dogs home in the UK were u can trust was is said about the dog. I would not recommend this place to anyoneread more

The whole experience has been much less daunting than we had anticipated. Jean and her contact in Romania have been... fantastic in their support and we now have our beautiful pup Pepper (was Ghemi). Thanks to the regular updates from Romania, we really felt we got to know our doggie before she arrived. It was an anxious wait when her journey to the UK started but we were kept up-to-date on travel progress and we knew the dogs were being very well looked-after with regular breaks. Pepper has been with us two days now and is still settling in. She is a beautiful girl with a lovely temperament and learning quickly. Always got back to me straight away and was so helpful. This is not just a job to Jean, this is for her love of dogs. Her passion and love for the dogs is incredible. Not only did she find the perfect home for Lord she also found the perfect companion for my other dog Scooby. Lord was rescued and was loved and cared for until he was ready to be rehomed with a family. Training done what was needed, everything. That alone is amazing as not all rescuers take the same amount of care, love, time, training with their dogs before sending them to their new homes. Sadly I saw this with my own eyes when a lady (nothing to do with Rockys rescue) who was suppose to rescue dogs decided to just let them go because it was too much hassle for her as they didn’t get on with other dogs.. Jean was amazing and took the time to organise for the two dogs to be saved and to rescue them after I explained what this lady was going to do with them.... Jean is well and truly an amazing and special lady and I only wish all the doggies out there could get the chance to be cared for and rehabilitated with the help of Jean and the gang. We applied for a house check which was really quick and the lady that did ours was lovely. Then we waited to hear back. Everything went quickly and smoothly. I cannot thank Jean enough for running Rockys Rescue with such passion and commitment to getting it right! Over the... months I'd signed up to and contacted a number of rescues and whilst I'm sure I underestimate how busy they must be, many have taken days even weeks to acknowledge my interest, whilst others failed to responded .....? I heard about Rockys Rescue, through a family member who had shared one of their FB posts. I was so impressed by their regular posts & updates & felt reassured by the customer feedback of how responsive Jean was on all queries and the aftercare service she offers. From seeing the dog for us and making the online enquiry, I received a call the very next morning from the local home-checker, we arranged a convenient date for the check and after Jean had considered her assessment of our suitability, she phoned me within 24hrs to confirm our successful application. The whole process took less than a week and Jean told us our new girl could be home with us on next delivery date (they make the journey approx. every 2 weeks). Jean has been amazing! She hasn't failed to answer my questions anytime of day or night, provided me as much information as possible about the dog, sent videos and pictures of her, plus her knowledge and expertise has offered us invaluable advise. Jean also ensures the care, love and attention her dogs receive in her private shelters is second to none. The teams out there do a superb job, the dogs are loved, well fed and are given time and attention. Jean uses a transport team that surpassed my expectations. Whilst their journey may take a little longer than you might think, it's because they insist on regular breaks to feed, water, clean and exercise the dogs. I'm more than happy to wait an extra day or two if it ensures the safety and well being of the vans precious cargo... dogs and drivers alike! Yesterday our lovely girl 'Elsa' joined our family. This is a massive 'THANK YOU' to Jean (Rockys Rescue) and the whole team for your dedication and selflessness in ensuring these dogs get the opportunity to heal and begin their new and happy lives. * Final note - it's Jean's dream to one day obtain a max. 2 acres of land, anywhere in the U.K. with off road access, planning permission (or the opportunity of it being granted), to build her own UK shelter. This way, she can save the lives of so many more dogs from the likes of Romania & Bosnia where their treatment is unimaginably heartbreaking. I for one cannot think of a more honest and worthy person to run such a charity and my hope is, that her dream will one day soon, be realised.read more

We have just adopted two pups from Rocky's rescue and are fostering their sister for the time being too. Whilst it has... been a very simple process for us, they have also made sure it is very thorough and rigorous to ensure the animals safety. The transport the pups arrived in was excellent too, clean and with plenty of room, with drivers who showed genuine affection towards the dogs. Jean kept us up to date on the current situation, from being accepted to adopt and also during the long journey the pups had from Romania, always answering our questions very quickly indeed. Jean works all the hours in the day to save as many of these dogs as is inhumanly possible! We certainly don't know how she does it. I can't recommend Rocky's more highly for their animal welfare or their philosophy. If you can't adopt a dog, buy something from their shop or donate what you can. The only thing Rocky's lack, is the funding to do more!read more

We have just adopted our second dog (first from rocky's). What a wonderful experience. Our dog chloe was living with... jean - the owner of rockys rescue as she was being fostered. We met her, and Jean helped us understand if chloe was the right age/sex dog that would have the highest chance of bonding with our existing pet. As with any new pup there have been the usual teething issues, but jean is on hand any time via txt/fb to answer any questions! It's been brilliant. Jean has even been out with us on walks to help us with training. She is training in puppy behaviour; and has helped us enormously. I feel confident that chloe will be part of the family forever - but it is lovely to know Jean from rocky's is on hand for any tricky situations especially dealing with challenging behaviour. They... work tirelessly and selflessly to do what ever they can for the beautiful babies they rescue & the people adopting/fostering. I've been looking for my furever dog for the last 2 years since my Buster went over the rainbow bridge - with no... success. Then my friend sent me a picture of Luna and I knew she was the one. From the moment I saw Ginger's photo online, I knew she was the dog I was looking for and for me. Jean has been amazing... and I can't imagine my life now without my little Ginger. She was born in a shelter in Romania, the only survivor of her litter and is the prettiest, friendliest and most loving dog I have ever had. She is full of smarts and confidence and not only makes me happy but makes everyone she come into contact with smile. She has been extremely easy to train and was even in her first amateur dog show last week, where she won a 3rd place ribbon! Jean's tireless support for these abandoned and abused pups is amazing and if there is anyone out there looking to bring a new dog into their home, they should with out a doubt, get a pup from Jean and save a life.read more
